Short CV - Publications

Christos Dionelis has a Diploma in Civil Engineering, from Aristotelion University of Thessaloniki (AUTH), (1981). He holds an MSc Diploma (on Highways and Transport) from City University of London (1983). His professional records include positions in the Hellenic Railways Organization, the Cabinet of two Ministers’ of Transport, the permanent TINA Secretariat in Vienna and in the European Commission DG TREN in Brussels.
He is currently a senior researcher at the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), Department of Geography and Regional Planning. He has participated in a large number of transportation related projects in Greece and the European Union as well as in many third countries.
He participated as Chairman or Secretary in the management of Pan-European Corridors IX, VII and Thessaloniki-Istanbul. He had been for two years member of the Administrative Board of the Hellenic Association of Transport Engineers.
His research interests focus on transportation planning, infrastructure development, project assessment, railways engineering and transport networks.
