George Patris holds a Diploma from the Faculty of Civil Engineering, National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), (1997). He obtained his MBA Diploma (Master in Business Administration) from NTUA, in cooperation with the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB) in 2001. His professional records include positions in the Managing and Organization Unit (the body responsible for the exploitation of funds from the 3rd and 4th Community Support Framework in Greece)at the Ministry of National Economy, as well as in the Ministry of Transport and Communications, where he served at the Cabinet of the Minister of Transport and Communication and in the Permanent Delegation of Greece to the European Union. He is currently a senior researcher and a PhD candidate at the Department of Geography and Regional Planning, NTUA. He has participated in various transport focused projects in Greece and in the European Union as well as in many third countries. He participated in the Secretariat of the Pan-European Corridor VII. He was for two years member of the Administrative Board of the Athens Electric Bus Organization and he is a member of the Hellenic Institute of Transportation Engineers.
His research interests focus on Transportation planning, ICTs, Decision Support Systems and Scenario Analysis.
